Life is Strange
Episodic Video Game Released 1/30/2015
Looks interesting. Sort of a time travel, murder mystery, social justice, coming of age, walk through TV series - set in an Indie movie atmosphere. May even appeal to more female players than the typical video game.
If
you want a break from your fast paced 'Shoot 'em up', then sit back and
enjoy your coffee as you explore the beautiful ambiance and some cool
music in this 'girl simulator.' Reminds me of my first year of college -
except for the sexting and social media which didn't exist back then.
The
story line is interesting, and includes seemingly endless branching
choices. I'm not sure how much each small choice actually affects the
macro story overall, but if you think you made the wrong choice you can
travel back in time and undo things. Of course, that
difference changes your path from that point forward too.
On
the other hand, $4.99 for a few hours of gameplay for this first
episode? (And the story won't continue in the next episode until March,
at which time it will probably cost another 5 bucks). Still, I'll
probably fork out the money in March, 'cuz I can't wait to see where
this goes.
Apparently I'm not alone. Its been out for less than 24 hours on Steam, and already there are 717 overly positive reviews.
Yeah, you should check it out.
